More than 1 Billion Internet Users in the World
Comscore, a company that tracks internet usage, calculates that 1 billion people who logged on to the World Wide Web in December 2008 - the first time this number have ever been online in a single month. As informs Cnews the actual number of Web surfers is probably higher than that as comscore said its figures were based only on the number of Internet users aged 15 and above working from home or work computers. "Surpassing one billion global users is a significant landmark in the history of the Internet. The second billion and the third billion will arrive even faster than that," said Magid Abraham, Comscore's chief executive officer.
